About

Any time I start researching and learning something new, then develop content about that topic, I lose track of time. That’s my “zone.” As a former educator, I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into something that makes sense to help engage readers.

We all want our words to be heard. I’ve always wanted to write books—words in a book that someone else would read and enjoy. Even better, words that would benefit the reader in some way.

At first, I had no idea what topics I might write about. A colleague invited me to review her resource materials to get ideas for my own work situation. As I browsed, my dream became more tangible: I would write a resource book.

Earlier, while completing an internship, I was handed a binder of writing samples and asked to teach writing skills based only on those samples. My challenge was to develop the content the students needed to learn.

This experience, developing content in an engaging format, led to a published book… and another, and another.

Will I work with people who are not in the educational field? Yes! I’m happy to develop and create content for church or lay ministry, small groups, business training, speakers, and workshop presentations. Another way to think about this is that I design instruction to reach an intended audience. If your passion is developing vibrant relationships and your missing link is accessible content and engaging activities, I’d love to help.

Over time, writing teacher resources expanded into writing a variety of educational and study materials as well as ghostwriting nonfiction books.

My content development experience includes:

  • ghostwriting nonfiction books
  • writing teaching guides
  • creating learning activities
  • writing lessons
  • creating interactive experiences for learners
  • writing informational articles (e.g., a white paper)
  • researching and writing fiction and nonfiction articles and passages for student reading and comprehension
  • researching and writing fiction and nonfiction leveled readers on engaging and informational topics for children
  • reviewing and revising content for print and online publications according to client specifications
  • creating infographics
  • creating study guides
  • writing workbooks
  • developing English language learner and international materials
  • aligning content to subject matter standards
  • managing projects
  • researching and writing about a wide range of topics in language arts, math, science, and social sciences
